Remote Food Service Operations Specialist

About the Role

Our client, a leading national provider of outsourced food services, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Remote Food Service Operations Specialist to join their expanding team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from home anywhere in South Africa. You will be instrumental in supporting and optimizing food service operations across various client sites, focusing on efficiency, quality control, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service management, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently. You will collaborate with on-site managers and stakeholders to ensure operational excellence and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

• Provide remote operational support and guidance to on-site food service managers.
• Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics, including food cost, labor, waste, and client satisfaction scores.
• Assist in the development and implementation of operational standards, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct remote audits and site visits (as needed) to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
• Support training initiatives for on-site teams, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Analyze procurement processes and inventory management for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot operational challenges and provide timely solutions.
• Prepare reports on operational performance and trends for senior management.
• Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory changes affecting food services.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing service delivery and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Food Service Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in food service operations management or a similar role.
• Proven experience in operational analysis, performance monitoring, and quality assurance.
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations (HACCP) and operational best practices in the food industry.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport remotely.
• Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing tasks independently in a remote work environment.
• Experience with food service management software is advantageous.
